Additional information: Painting 27 in the '36 Views of Lyme' series of paintings. The scene depicts part of the pile of fishing equipment stored along the edge of the Cobb in Lyme Regis. Due to the large scale of the stored equipment very little of Lyme Regis is actually visible beyond it.
The title of the painting is a reference to both the use of less fishing equipment by the fishing boats making the pile of equipment larger and also to the style of the painting; which is done in a speedier and more immediate sketchy style than most of my other paintings in the '36 Views of Lyme' series.
